Disposable Vapes and Heavy Metal Headaches

New studies are showing dangerous risks that will have you rethink that vape…

Researchers at UC Davis recently tested some of the most popular disposable vapes to see what chemicals come out when someone uses them. They looked at 7 devices from 3 major brands, collecting vapor samples from the very first puff all the way up to 1,500 puffs.

What did they find…? Well, you might want to buckle up for this one.

We’ve already talked plenty about the nasty chemicals that are in vape juice, but this new study has shown that toxic heavy metals like nickel, lead, chromium, and antimony were in the vapor people were breathing in.

And these aren’t ingredients listed on the label…these are dangerous substances being released by the parts inside the vape (like the coil and wires) every time it heats up.

A diagram of how these heavy metals are leeching into the vape juice and a graph of those chemicals and the risks to your health.

Why This Should Freak You Out

Here’s what those metals actually do:

  • Lead: Attacks the brain and nervous system. It’s especially harmful to teens and can mess with learning, memory, and behavior.

  • Nickel: Can cause lung problems and is linked to certain cancers.

  • Chromium: Also known to be a cancer-causing chemical.

  • Antimony (Sb): One of the forms found in the study, Sb(III), is also known to be carcinogenic (that means it can cause cancer).

Even more shocking: in some cases, the amount of lead inhaled in a single day of vaping was more than the amount you’d get from smoking 20 packs of cigarettes. Let that sink in.

But It Gets Worse…

The longer someone uses a disposable vape, the more dangerous it gets.

As the metal parts heat up over and over again, they start breaking down and releasing even more metals. So whether someone is on puff #10 or puff #1,000—each one could be filling their lungs with more toxic particles than the last.

The line going up is BAD.

And this isn’t just “a little bad.” Some of the metal levels in these vapes actually go beyond safety limits set for cancer and lung risk.

A lot of people think these vapes are “better than smoking” or that they’re “just nicotine.” But studies like this one show that they’re not just nicotine. They’re heating up and releasing actual metals—the kind that can mess with your lungs, your brain, and your future.

No one’s trying to scare you for fun. This isn’t about being a buzzkill – it’s about facts and your health. These are real studies that the vaping industry doesn’t want you to know about. Your health isn’t important to the same industry that lied about the dangers of cigarettes for decades.

Your health is in your hands. Do you really want to risk your future for a buzz?
